Chris Montez Hits Resonate on TV4U.Com Rock and Roll IPTV Channel

Chris Montez was a 'soft rock' sensation in the 1960's for the fledgling A&M record label, far before anyone thought of the term. A friend of Ritchie Valens in the Los Angeles barrio, Chris changed his name from Montanez and started rerecoding hits of decades past, such as Call Me and Time After Time, to a new and enthusiastic rock and roll audience. He had six full fledged hits over a four year span and established himself as a perfect commercial crossover artist. You can enjoy all six of his Billboard Top 40 hits - all recorded as performance videos by RKO Records- at Wibbage.Net.

Veteran TV crews are hard to impress. They've seen it all over and over again....the best of the best performing at their best for the TV audience. That's why it was such a special moment when Mel Carter stepped into the studio to reprise his big hit Hold Me! Thrill Me! Kiss Me! before the RKO Records tv and recording crew. Louisiana Rock and Roll Legends Highlight Wibbage Hit Chart

The beauty of Rock and Roll is that it came from so many different areas of the USA....coutry based, R&B based, - all fused into the first real new music genre since jazz. Louisian was a big, big contributor to this music mosaic. Huey 'Piano' Lewis, Chris Kenner, Lee Dorsey and Fats Domino were all chart toppers with a musical sound that endures to this day. Wibbage has captured some of those sounds on music performance videos produced by RKO Records. Frankie Ford was barely out of his teens when he recorded Sea Cruise because it was passed on by Huey 'Piano' Smith. Jean Knight sang what has become an anthem with her Mr. Big Stuff hit. And Robert Parker, a veteran sessions player and producer, struck gold with his Barefotin' dance craze hit. All are here on Wibbage.Net, the Rock and Roll channel on TV4U.Com. Great performances, all.

Wibbage Remembers Donnie Brooks

Donnie Brooks, who appears on Wibbage.Net singing his pop hit Mission Bell, was quaite a character in the music business. Donnie worked hard to find his niche in the pop music world, trying several different styles - and even names- before his caught lightning in a bottle on the little Los Angeles based Era label with Mission Bell. He then parlayed that one hit into decades of music work in the Los Angeles area, including a stint at Frank Sinatra's Cal Neva casino. With no more pop hits, Donnie morphed over to the Rockabilly genre whee he did well enough that he was elected to the Rockabilly Hall of Fame just a year before his death in 2007. What a character....it was a pleasure to know him.
